Artisans: Keith Platt - Furniture Restorer & Maker
The Artisan project is a series of portraits of some of England's best craftsmen who use their hands, skills and experience to create a wide range of beautiful objects and often to restore old and damaged examples of fine work to their former glory.
Keith Platt, the first subject of my Artisan project was a most gracious host who showed me how he works restoring and creating beautiful furniture in his Cotswolds workshop.
You can see a slideshow of the photo session, which I shot using a Fuji Finepix S5 pro, a Leica M8 and Elinchrom flash. Some shots were taken just using available light.
Please feel free to put forward someone you admire with those skills and aspirations, working within a few hours drive from central London and who might be interested in taking part in this project, which is planned to culminate in an exhibition with an accompanying book at the end of the year.
